Parallel Plate Electrolyzer, also known as Plate Electrolyzer, is designed for medium to large Hypochlorite capacities. Despite the CTE structure, this design requires regular acid washing. Low operational and capital cost are among the significant pros of these generators. Additionally, it could be erected both vertically and horizontally.
This type of Electrolyzer cell includes several serial stacks and each stack is divided into several parallel seawater paths. Each path consists of two plates known as Anode and cathode. Applying DC to these plates results in an electrochemical reaction and correspondingly production of sodium hypochlorite.
